Some Things You Should Know About My Husband
By Emily Pietrowicz

Here are some things I think you should know about my husband, Joshua:

Joshua LOVES freedom. He believes in the freedom that our Country has fought so hard for and he will put up a fight if anyone tries to eliminate our freedoms in any way. Over time, certain freedoms in America seem to be more and more at risk of future extinction. This is a terrible thought! Why would we as country want to go backwards? Why would we want to just roll over and give up the freedoms our forefathers and many Americans after them fought and died for? It makes absolutely no sense to me and I am thankful for people like my husband who aren't blind to some of our freedoms slowly diminishing and are willing to step up and fight back.

He cares deeply for our Veterans. He honors them in any way that he can. Striking a conversation with them, thanking them for their service, paying for their tolls, etc. Joshua is passionate about America taking better care of our Veterans, they have sacrificed so much for us and our freedom, we need to take care of them like they have taken care of us, it is the least we could do.

My husband wants to bridge the divide between Republicans and Democrats. He isn't someone who will write off a person because of what party they associate with, Joshua plans to get to know his peers, listen to their ideas, find compromises, and work with them. With this approach he hopes to get more done for the American people as well as change the tone between the parties from constant battle cries to reasoning with one another peacefully.

Joshua enjoys hunting, fishing, racing, and gaming. He loves to teach me all about these things and include me in the activities. We always enjoy whichever activity we choose especially because we're doing it together. Whether it's camping/hunting trips in the North Maine Woods, race weekends, fishing while kayaking at his Opa's camp, or staying home playing video games, the best times we have are spent together with just the two of us.

Joshua is a born again Christian and made the decision to follow Christ just before the age of five. His faith is very important to him, the Bible is Joshua's moral compass and his relationship with God guides and impacts his decisions. His morals are admirable, it's a wonderful, and sadly rare, thing to see a young man making hard decisions based on their strong morals, but I see this time and time again from my husband.

Joshua's Vision
Shaping a Brighter Tomorrow
Joshua's vision is to foster a safe and prosperous America where friends and family feel safe to gather without fear. Where children can receive a quality education without divisive political rhetoric being integrated at every turn. Where families can shop together at supermarkets or go to public events knowing they either have control of their own security, through acts like constitutional carry, or knowing assuredly that there is a law enforcement officer within earshot. Joshua believes if there is a need for a gun free zone, it should require a metal detector and a few good officers looking out for us all at every point of entry and exit.
Joshua's vision for America is one where the waitress can pay her bills and the bus boy can put himself through school, not because the minimum wage is high, but rather because the buying power of the individual has been valued more by our Country's leadership than the borrowing power of corporate special interests or reckless and seemingly endless Federal spending. A vision that is focussed on the nuclear family and a hope that isn't snuffed out, a hope that bears a burden, that tomorrow's generation will somehow share in a brighter future than today's.
